The Silver Dawn introduced in 1949 was a “badge-engineered” Bentley Mark VI and became an enormously successful early post-war car. Aimed at the lucrative American market, the Silver Dawn offered an eminently usable Rolls-Royce and appealed to the owner-driver. Its silky road manners are quite simply delightful, and entirely suitable for modern motoring. The magnificent 1953 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn Saloon featured here is finished in stunning Mason’s Black over a red Connolly leather interior, surrounded by magnificent burled walnut woodwork throughout. Delivered new by special order to San Francisco, California to its first owner who in 1976 sold to its second owner, a Rolls-Royce specialist and Pebble Beach Concours judge. It was meticulously maintained and showed at many Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club events while receiving multiple first-place wins. Seldom does an American left-hand Silver Dawn come to market, especially with this provenance and incredible condition. In over 40 years of collecting and selling Rolls-Royce’s, I have only run across a handful of Silver Dawns in American left-hand drive. If it is not feasible for you to personally perform an inspection, we will gladly help facilitate an inspection by an independent service center of your choice and will make delivery arrangements of the vehicle for this purpose. All vehicles are sold in “AS IS” condition. Extended warranty options are available on most vehicles. All purchases include an additional $385 processing fee which covers the processing of paperwork, pre-vehicle delivery costs, FedEx shipping fees, and a 30-day temporary registration plate so that the vehicle can be driven prior to the title transfer.
