Description
This Nippon porcelain ewer or pitcher was an estate find. It has the blue “Maple Leaf” back stamp on the bottom, dating it to around 1891.
It stands 5-1/4″ in height to the tallest point, and measures 6″ across the widest part.
The ewer has hand painted dark pink roses on a white background that has pearly-white raised enamel beads, surrounded by the main area that has overall tiny gold beads, as well as rosebuds with trailing green stems and leaves. There are three horizontal bands in a very dark green (almost black), enhanced with gold enamel scrolling and geometric lines. The shape of the handle is very “Art Nouveau”.
There are no chips, cracks or crazing. Colors are excellent, however there is wear to the gold on the handle, and on the top and bottom rims. The beading looks to be in very good condition.
Please see all photos and click on them to super size.
The ewer will be well packed. Insurance is included in the shipping fee.
International buyers are responsible for Customs fees. Please do not ask me to falsify documents.
Thanks for looking!
Payment
The ball is now in your court.
I do not send out offers; as far as I am concerned, this listing is my offer. If I accept
your
offer, payment is required within 2 days.
Shipping
If you plan on bidding on more than one of my items, I can combine shipping when possible. Please do not assume….always contact me first. I can hold the first item up to 7 days only.  Do not pay for the first item until I send the combined invoice for all items.  For those people who are confused about the meaning of “combined shipping”, here are 2 important points to be aware of:  1) It is NOT free. Things are tough all over, and I cannot afford to ship for free.  2) It is NOT “2 for 1″….it is more like “2 for 1 1/2”.
I pack carefully with bubble wrap and plenty of padding.
Shipping rate is set by the U.S. Postal Service. It is calculated using the weight of the package and the distance it has to travel.
Shipping fee includes packaging, postage, and online Delivery Confirmation. It also automatically includes insurance if the final closing price is $24.99 or over. I usually offer a choice of Priority (fastest), Parcel Post (good for heavy items), and First Class for packages under 13 ounces. Please understand that Parcel Post is Ground Shipping, and it will take longer.
I always acknowledge receipt of your payment and inform you of shipping day, which is on business days (Mon. – Fri.), within 24 hours of receiving cleared payment.
Terms of Sale

It is your responsibility to note
the size and condition of the item.
Ask questions if you are unsure. If you are really unhappy with your item, I will refund the purchase price upon safe return of the
same item I sent to you
, within 30 days (that INCLUDES transit time).
