: This beautiful hand-painted plate is by the renowned Japanese maker Nippon, precursor to the equally renowned Noritake.
Nippon is justifiably famous for its high quality and this plate is no exception: it is classically designed, rich in detail and superbly crafted, featuring beautifully painted blue birds and a lovely display of pink azaleas.
Age
: The blue Nippon maple leaf mark on the reverse dates the plate’s production to between 1891 and 1911.
Condition
: It’s in excellent condition for its age with no chips, nicks, cracks, scratches, repairs, crazing or discoloration.
Size
: The plate is 10 inches wide and weighs 1 pound 4 ounces.
